Abstract:
The combination of fluorescent marker-based sorting and deep sequencing has made it possible to profile the mRNA and small RNA content across many cell types. However, many deep sequencing protocols require the development of new and dedicated statistical and computational approaches. I will present our work in the context of Arabidopsis root development, including miRNA identification and expression quantification, as well as ongoing efforts to detect antisense transcription and cell-type specific functional alternative splicing.
