Title: From interaction to synchronization of self-localized states

Our results demonstrate (both theoretically and experimentally), that the behaviour of two objects (position locked solitons, which are characterized by continuous functions) is described by Adler (Kuramoto N=2) model.

Content: Self-localitzed states (solitons) are particle-like objects present in diverse systems, described by Partial Differential equations. The study of interaction of such objects has attracted a lot interest of researchers (similar to the interest to the interaction of particles). In this talk, I will focus on the particular experimentally available system - Laser with external feedback, described however by the general Ginzburg-Landau equation coupled to linear equation. I will explain, how the problem of interaction of solitons is efficiently analysed in pioneering works and I will show, how the concept of synchronization appears from the concept of interaction, when we brake translational invariance (artificially imposing parameter inhomogeneity in space in form of potential wells).
